Of Hopeless Human Folly
That would have been called Beastly except that beasts need not be insulted so.

The sun should have risen ominously on that day dedicated to Freya, 13th of the month, commonly thought to have certain inauspicious characteristics. (Coincidence or Fate? The choice is yours.) As it was, it was proving to be a relatively normal day. Two thirds of the so-called Yamil’s Angels (for no good reason except to tease the said Boss) were scheduled to meet at 4 pm at a busy shopping mall. The Mission: to catch up and talk, talk, talk. At 4.03 Yours Truly (one of the said Angels, I need not say, aka Apple Smoothie among other things) was waiting for her friend and ex-coworker (Blackberry Smoothie or similar) when the phone rang. Emergency! She would need to go Underground to help her.

And so they descended into a hopeless battle with an Inferior Being.

As it is, the story in prose is marked just by the usual long waits related to a car accident. So we should probably concentrate on the description of said Inferior Being. This type of mortal is easily found in the streets of Mexico City. Many of them are usually seen driving vehicles around the Streets, wreaking havoc and fear in human hearts. This particular specimen did not appear to be of a beastly sort (with my excuses for beasts who might be offended for being compared with this Being). The affair was his fault, everyone agreed... that is, everyone except him. Either he had managed to convince himself (we dare to hope, for the sake of his moral character) that he was in the right, or, what seemed most probable, he was Lying outright. Yes. Lying. About something that only brought trouble to everyone involved. Had he not lied, the problem would have been solved much quicker. As it was, the Lie did not benefit or protect anyone else. As a consequence, everyone involved is currently trying to disentangle the affair at a Place of Justice normally called Delegación. (Dooooooooooooooooooooom!!! For it is documented that Inferior Beings tend to work there too).

All in all, the Apple Smoothie's role in the affair was something that had been seen earlier this week, in another accident involving vehicles: the amount of help she was capable of offering was limited to watching. Unfortunate situation. But it was not over. After the affected parties went home, I betook myself to the Owl Store to buy some long-needed "air time" (?) for the tracking device inflicted on me by "the Necessities of Life" and motherly "What ifs", and also by a tendency which will be read about below (this item is usually called a mobile phone, by the way). On the way, the record store beckoned. "Shopping therapy". Great idea! So I walked out with another great record by Blackmore's Night, Ghost of a Rose. Just what I needed.

EXCEPT there was one more monster to fight. The monster within. The Angel's sense of direction is faulty at times. In fact, at all times. Like Ryoga, she has a tendency to get lost in the most familiar places. So, again, in the Underworld once more, but this time looking for her OWN car, she spent several minutes aimlessly wandering about the place. Finally, by chance more than anything, and reflecting that a GPS inserted in her head would probably be a good idea, she headed home to a beaufiful sky.

The lessons learned today amount to this:

These are my superpowers, as recognized today
The Disdainful Glance
The Sharp Tongue (Sarcasm is not beyond our heroine when necessary)
The Charming Smile (If I say so myself)
Occasional Psychic Precognition
The Knight In Shining Armor Manifestation When Needed
Animal Ken
The Kamikaze Gift
Avoidance of Uncomfortable Conversations

These are my weaknesses
Non-Existent Sense of Direction
The Easy Tears (which can work for me)
Appearance of Weakness (see above)
Suicidal Street-Crossing Methods
Tendency of Bumping Into Things
The Wandering Mind
The Epic Inability to Wait
The No Planning Ahead MO

That is all I can think of for now... Good night and may tomorrow bring us a better day than today.

PS Fellow Angel I hope your battle with Evil comes to a successful end.
